Butler Winding is a precision manufacturer and supplier of custom electronic transformers and custom inductors. Our winding capabilities include custom manufacturing & building, custom designing, custom prototyping and more. We produce electronic transformers and inductors to our own design or the customer specifications.Butler Winding serves a variety of markets and industries. Our customers include manufacturers of medical equipment, specialty instruments, control equipment, power supplies, railroad industry equipment, military equipment, communications equipment, aeronautics and industrial equipment.

Our facility has modern manufacturing equipment to ensure quality and low manufacturing costs. We have two automated testers and offer 100% product testing to the customer specification. Our electrical engineering staff allows us to provide specialty magnetic design services for those customers who have a need but do not have product specifications developed. We also offer prototyping service with rapid turn-around to ensure that our products meet the customer’s needs.

This video shows a custom inductor being wound on an automated winding machine. The wire is wound on a coil form or bobbin. After the machine is programmed for the coil being wound, the bobbin is secured to a winding arbor on the machine. The wire is then secured to the bobbin and the machine winds the number of turns specified. The finish wire is then secured to the coil and the part is ready for assembly.
